Zorro colorado (Lycalopex culpaeus)
Características Físicas: Es el cánido sudamericano más grande después del Aguará Guazú. Su pelaje es espeso, relativamente largo y con reflejos de tono rojizo. Su cola es espesa y voluminosa terminando con la punta negra. El macho es más grande que la hembra.
Hábitat: Normalmente solitario, comparte su territorio con su pareja. Habita ambientes abiertos, pastizales de altura, desiertos y estepas. Ingresa en los bosques andinos en los cuales alcanza mayor densidad que en terrenos abiertos. Evita climas cálidos y húmedos. Los adultos ocupan una superficie de unos 11 km2. Se alimenta principalmente de pequeños roedores, pero también de carroña de guanacos y otros mamíferos domésticos como la oveja. Ambos miembros de la pareja se turnan para alimentar a la camada que puede alcanzar hasta los 8 ejemplares. El apareamiento ocurre entre agosto y octubre y las crías tienen una gestación de unos 60 días.
Dimensiones: Mide entre entre 130-156 cm y un peso entre 6 y 13 kilos.
¡¡¡Que se puede decir…si está adornando mi casa… cuando en realidad tendría que estar en otro lugar. Perdón, pero es una obra tan bella que me tentó y la dejé para disfrutarla en familia igual que el legendario kakuy. Perdón una vez mas. Ya tendremos tiempo de mostrar la obra o parte de lla en el salón. Aunque me apropiaré sin sentirme culpable de esa pintura fotográfica INMENSA que es el CRISTO DEL RIO.
