Caracteristicas:

Arbol perenne, de gran valor ornamental. Sus flores blanco-verdosas despiden un exquisito aroma, y sus frutos rojos atraen pájaros nativos. Se le conocen muchísimas propiedades medicinales.
Distribución: Desde Río Negro y La Pampa en el sur se extiende por el centro y norte de Argentina hasta el sur de Brasil, Paraguay y Bolivia. En Tucumán: Parque chaqueño y Monte
Observaciones: Empieza a florecer en mayo y fructifica de julio a noviembre. Junto al Aspidosperma quebracho blanco tiene hojas en invierno, es entonces de vegetación foliada

    En Córdoba esta especie esta ampliamente extendida, tanto en el bosque serrano como en el espinal Pampeano. Claro que el numero de ejemplares es bajo, es de muy dificl reproducción, de hecho no hay ninguna tecnica especial para hacerlo, como las hay para algarrobos, talas, espinilos,etc. Se deben poner las semillas sobre mantillo,regarlas y esperalas, con un bajo% de germinación . Lo que no se si a las semillas hay que recolectarlas cuando los frutos estan ya secos …..o si estando maduros ya son germinativos
